New Horizons
Are you sitting comfortably? Okay, now let’s begin. Fresh on the heels of Sony’s monumental PlayStation 4, comes its successor, boasting super quick load times and impressive power.
Where to begin?
The Best… So Far!

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
PlayStation’s poster boy during the PS2 era, Ratchet went through a little bit of a lull during the PS4 generation. That’s changed with Rift Apart, which sees the lombax bursting back onto the scene to prove he’s still got it. Currently the best example of what can be done with PS5’s super-quick load times, Rift Apart sees Ratchet hopping through dimensions on his quest to save the world just one more time.
Demon’s Souls
FromSoftware have become one of the biggest names in gaming since they released Dark Souls, and while some people bounce right off their high difficulty level (myself included), there is something undeniably magical about Bluepoint Studios’ remake of this game that originally appeared on PS3. Demon’s Souls is a masterclass in game design, and might well be the most beautiful game available today.

Where do we go from here?
My Body Is Ready

God of War: Ragnarök
When Santa Monica Studio brought their most famous franchise back into the spotlight with 2018’s God of War reboot, everyone was taken aback by how it continued the series’ legacy of enjoyable combat with a new emotional depth. With Ragnarök slated as the final chapter of a duology, it’ll be interesting to see where things go in Kratos’ story.
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil has never been a franchise I’ve been particularly interested in. Well, until I finally got around to playing the brilliant remake of Resident Evil 2, that is. Resident Evil 4 is regarded by many as the pinnacle of the series’ offering, and I can’t wait to dig my teeth into this modern reimagining.
